Like many of us, my entire career was essentially based around being seated at a desk. And whether you love or hate it, we can all agree it doesn’t do us the world of good.
For many years I hated exercise. I thought it just wasn’t for me. As a tall person with fallen arches, I hunched, I tripped (a lot), I ached and I just didn’t know why.
I started pilates almost in desperation to help myself in some way, but I’d never tried it before so I started just from home where no one was watching me. Blogilates helped me find a love for exercise and gave me confidence in myself that I wasn’t just a clumsy, ungraceful person.
Pilates gave me so much once I learnt the basic principles, how to fully control my movements and seeing real improvement in many ways. Now I feel the most confident I have ever felt and people can’t call me The Clumsy One anymore.
Naturally, I wanted to tell everyone how brilliant it was, so I wanted to be able to teach.
Even people like myself who cannot dance or move very gracefully can see huge improvements in their posture, alignment, strength, endurance, coordination and motivation to feel the best they can feel.
Stott Pilates ended up being the perfect place for me to continue to learn about biomechanics and spinal alignment. They put me to the test but it was worth it.
Being able to also teach POP Pilates by Blogilates allows me to go back to where it all started for me. And Pilates in London is the first registered POP Pilates in London and the surrounding areas.
My aim is to bring fun, joy, love and real accomplishment to pilates classes near you.
